Avenue of Oaks: The Mulberry Grove Plantation road is lined with remnants of the original live oaks defining its width. George Washington traveled its length on two separate visits to Catherine Greene, widow of Gen. Nathaneal Greene, while en route to and from Savannah in 1791. About one mile of the original two-mile lane will be preserved.
